Adzo Atson T. was born in Togo, West Africa and raised in Ghana to immigrant parents who came to America to give my siblings and I a better opportunities in life. As a teen I participated in beauty and fashion modeling and was a video vixen. I have always admired the art of makeup since I was in the 5th grade, when I would go to school wearing my aunts eyeshadows. I never knew my hobby could one day turn into my life long career. I and my two friends who were also Black had a bad experienced when we went to the makeup store to get our makeups doe for our senior year prom. We couldn't find anyone our skin color to do our makeup and the makeup I will always remember the makeup artist in the store telling my friend who was a dark skinned girl she was not trained and could not do makeup on her. I remember the shade range for differen't foundations, lipsticks and bronzers being so limited and not Black girl friendly. Women of color deserve to walk in a beauty store and see their shade in everything. After all we are the ones that spend the most money beauty products all over the world. We shouldn't be an after though in the beauty industry. My friend was heart broken. She lost any confidence she had about her skin color. I thought that was very wrong and I ended up doing her makeup the best I could with what I had and she was in tears after seeing how beautiful she looked. I decided to learn more about colors, skin tone, textures, and more. From there I discovered my passion for doing other people's makeup. I became a makeup artist at Mac Cosmetics and later on did freelanced after 2 years working there. My dream was always to have my own line of variety of luxurious and unique beauty products to suite and boost every woman's confidence. The desire to make Black women look beautiful is my greatest motivation of all for me. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a woman looking beautiful and confident in her skin and body. My makeup brand was launched in 2022.
